Accessibility Statement

We are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities, and to improving the experience for everyone.

Last updated: August 31, 2026

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

The San Francisco Unified Lions Club (SFULC) and the San Francisco Unified Lions Club Foundation are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to guarantee that our community service initiatives, event information, and donation portals are accessible to all visitors.

2. Conformance Status

We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standards. These guidelines outline best practices for making web content accessible to individuals with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

3. Measures to Support Accessibility

To support accessibility across our Webflow digital platform, SFULC implements the following measures:

  • Alternative Text (Alt Text): Providing descriptive alternative text for non-text content, such as event graphics, community project photos, and Lions emblems.
  • Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring all core site elements, interactive buttons, form fields, and navigation dropdowns can be fully accessed and operated using a keyboard alone.
  • Color Contrast & Typography: Maintaining high-contrast text and background pairings, readable typography scaling, and avoiding relying solely on color to convey critical information.
  • Responsive Layouts: Designing flexible, responsive layouts that scale seamlessly across mobile, tablet, and desktop screens without loss of content or functional distortion.
  • Clear Document Hierarchy: Structuring page elements with proper HTML markup, logical heading levels (H1, H2, H3), and descriptive link anchors rather than generic “click here” labels.
  • Forms & Labels: Utilizing clear labels and explicit instructions on all contact, membership, and Leo Club inquiry forms.

4. Third-Party Tools & Services

Our website integrates third-party tools and external services to facilitate event scheduling, member sign-ups, and charitable donations—including Zeffy, Jotform, and Google Calendar. While we actively select partners who prioritize digital accessibility, some content or functionality hosted by these third-party platforms may be outside our direct control. If you encounter accessibility issues with any third-party feature, please let us know so we can assist you or reach out to the provider.

5. Password-Protected Member Portal & Resources

For active members accessing our password-protected Member Portal, resource library, or governance documents (such as the Constitution & Bylaws or Club Officers Manual):

  • We aim to provide downloadable documents in accessible, screen-reader-friendly PDF or text formats.
  • If you require a club document in an alternative accessible format (e.g., large print, plain text, or audio), please submit a request to our administrative team.

6. Known Limitations and Ongoing Improvements

Despite our best efforts to ensure full accessibility across every page of our website, there may be temporary limitations as we continuously update our platform:

  • Legacy Media Archives: Older photo gallery archives or legacy flyers converted prior to our current web-native guidelines may lack detailed alternative text descriptions.
  • External PDF Documents: Certain historical governance or district documents provided by external Lions District entities may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

We are actively reviewing and remediating these elements during our regular website maintenance audits.

7. Feedback and Contact Information

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the SFULC website. If you experience any technical or accessibility barriers, or if you need assistance accessing any part of our site, please contact us:

When reaching out, please specify the web page URL, describe the specific accessibility issue you encountered, and indicate the assistive technology or browser you were using. We aim to respond to accessibility inquiries within 2 to 3 business days.
